EDC and VP.Start Complete Smart Grid Modernization Project in Siem Reap Province

The rapid development of modern society has led to a continuous increase in electricity demand. This growing demand has become a significant challenge that requires innovative and efficient solutions.

Why is electricity demand increasing so rapidly in the digital era?

In today's digital age, people rely on multiple electrical devices for their daily lives and work, with the average person using more than two devices. In addition, the growing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) has further accelerated the demand for electricity. These factors highlight the need for intelligent and efficient power grid management systems that can effectively meet the increasing demands of consumers.

VP.Start's Smart Grid solution has been recognized by Electricity of Cambodia (EDC) and private electricity providers as an innovative technology that simplifies the management and distribution of electrical power. The system helps reduce power losses, improve operational efficiency, and minimize power outages, ensuring a more reliable and stable electricity supply.

As part of the annual digital modernization project, Electricity of Cambodia (EDC) and VP.Start successfully completed the project implementation in Siem Reap Province. The project included the installation of DRC IoT Devices, inspections of the Smart Grid system within the Control Center, and verification that all DRC IoT Device installations complied with the technical standards defined in the project. These initiatives have strengthened the stability and efficiency of power grid operations while supporting the continued development of Smart Grid technology in Cambodia.
