Site Support Engineer

Principal Role and Responsibilities 

  •  Provide professional engineering services i.e site installation, site asset maintenance and  troubleshooting to the customers. 
  •  Install, maintain and troubleshoot the company products/solutions as well as electrical-equipment on  site 
  •  Provide trainings and presentations of the company products/solutions, applications, functionalities,  features, and the end users’/customers’ benefit. 
  •  Be available to remotely support, consult & trouble shoot customers’ problems on a 24/7 basis  whenever problems are encountered. Power distribution system analysis and finding good engineering  solutions that face any grid system. 
  •  Understand and configure relay-protection settings, ACRs, sectionalizers, etc. Analyze the company’s  products/solutions that may cause issues or become faulty and provide the professional solutions to  those issues that may arise. 
  •  Conduct field surveys and study maps, graphs, diagrams and other data to identify and correct power  system problems. 
  •  Ensuring missions meet the safety regulations and company SOPs. 
  •  Filling out job sheets and reporting to the manager. 
  •  Work closely with the customer by managing a good mission schedule and by adhering to the SOPs  and company regulations. 
  •  Reporting the overall status of the site mission & the customers’ feedback to the team &  HOD/Supervisor. 
  •  Flexible to work on weekends and public holidays (Not often). 
  •  Maintaining the tools/equipment well. 
  •  Assist and coordinate with other departments/teams whenever needed. 
  •  Self-improve & keep researching on relevant skills/topics that support the site engineer’s role and keep  a strong understanding of the company’s solutions/products, vision, policies.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited school.  Minimum 2 years of working experience in related fields. 
  •  Working with/or understanding Power Grid systems LV, MV and HV grid. 
  •  Experienced with Electrical equipment operation such as ACR, LBS, Sectionalizer, RMU, AVR,  Distribution-Transformer, Arrester, etc.  
  •  Experienced in using or a desire to learn the required software such as WSOS, ETIMS, Cooper  InsightView, etc. 
  •  Proven ability to analyze and understand power distribution systems. 
  •  Experienced learning on ArcGIS mapping view software, DigSilent, 2D&3D drawing graphic design  (AutoCAD, Sketchup, CorelDraw and/or SolidWork). 
  •  Knowledge of applicable Relay Protection, Curve Analysis, MV single line diagrams are preferred.  Working experience in MV line, Substation or SCADA system are advantages.  Great communication & presentation skills that can translate to training other team members.   Good in Email and Microsoft Office.
